Gasket Thermocouples

The gasket thermocouple can be attached to a stud welded to a surface or with a nut and bolt. The measuring junction is in effect the entire gasket area. Most frequently used to monitor surface temperature of machinery and engines.

A ceramic tip attached to the gasket provides a higher temperature range and a more durable construction which is bendable. Sheath can extend from a few inches to any length desired. This type of construction also allows for ungrounded measuring junction.

Bayonet Thermocouples

Quick twist of the bayonet locking cap assures easy installation and removal. This provides positive tip contact regardless of expanding and contracting of the surface due to changing temperatures. A variety of mounting adapters is available for proper selection to conform with machine design. The Ceramic material provides a higher temperature range and a more durable construction especially desirable in moisture prone areas. This type of construction also allows for ungrounded measuring junction. Adjustable by simply hand twisting of the cap eliminates stocking a variety of fixed immersion length bayonet thermocouples Available in rigid sheath type or flexible armor.

Tube Skin Thermocouples

Tube skin thermocouples are used for monitoring surface temperatures on boilers, super heater or heat exchanger tubes. They are available with a weld pad shaped to the curvature of the tube or knife edge for fast response. Termination available with lead wire or sealed head extensions. Thermo Electric will custom shape for expansion loops or coils and provide weld clamp and heat shield as required. Tube skin thermocouples for permanent attachment are especially suitable for lightweight applications where the heavier industrial tubeskin construction is not needed.

Magnetic Thermocouples

Used to measure the surface temperature of any magnetic object. Ideal where quick removal is desired or modifying the surface is not permitted. Magnet thermocouples are spring loaded, available with grounded or ungrounded flat tip construction. Temperature is limited to the holding power of the magnet approximently 400° F.

Pipe Clamp, Gasket, Right Angle Assemblies

Industrial pipe clamp assemblies measures skin temerature on pipe. Can be mounted to process run pipes from 1/2″ to over 48″. Industrial gasket assemblies are connected to a metal surface equipped with a stud and 1 1/2″NPT half coupling for a weather tight connection. Right angle assemblies are for access to the top of tanks with the head extension to the side for a dropped down connection.
